Sean Kikkert

As well as being a talented author (see sean.kikkert.com) Sean Kikkert has more than 16 years’ experience in immigration law and administrative law. After being admitted in 2007, Sean worked as a lawyer for the Commonwealth Department of Immigration for 11 years before opening his own practice. He has appeared in many Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit & Family Court of Australia and Tribunal matters.

Sean is able to provide legal advice on complex matters drawing on his extensive government law experience. Additionally, Sean has considerable experience in alternative dispute resolution and was a Deputy Registrar with the ACT Magistrates Court between 2019-2022, where he conducted family and personal violence conferences .

Sean was born in Adelaide, South Australia, but spent time in the Netherlands as child. He has a BA (Hons.) in Psychology (2002) and an LLB (Hons.) (2005) from the University of Adelaide. Sean has five children and is married to Jacqui.

Sean joined the independent South Australian Bar in 2022.

Dr Allison J Ballard

Allison was admitted to the ACT Supreme Court as a barrister and solicitor in 2011. Since then she has worked in private practice and across the government, community legal , legal aid, union and industry sectors. She has practiced and consulted primarily in the areas of work health and safety, employment and industrial law, human rights and discrimination (with a focus on workplace bullying and harassment), administrative law, and worker’s compensation. Allison is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canberra Law School and a Clinical Supervisor at Citizen Centred Justice Legal Clinic, an innovative student-led health-justice clinic affiliated with the UC Medical & Counselling Centre. Drawing on an extensive public sector career in senior management, education, and emergency healthcare together with her legal practice experience, Allison provides expert reports in respect of workplace injuries, workplace bullying and harassment, and other psychosocial workplace hazards. She also conducts independent workplace investigations.

Allison was born in rural NSW and has lived in Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, and Tasmania . Her qualifications include a BA in Communication Studies (Fine Arts) from UniSA, a GD Legal Studies, Juris Doctor (Hons.) and PhD in Law (focusing on workplace bullying) from the University of Canberra, a GDLP from the Australian National University, and a Grad. Cert Learning & Teaching from CSU. Allison also holds qualifications in pre-hospital emergency care and building design and is completing a Masters in Education (Higher Education). She is on the board of the International Association of Workplace Bullying and Harassment (IAWBH). She has two sons.

Allison joined the independent South Australian Bar in 2022.
